2012: A Year in Review (July through December)

To continue our summary of 2012....

July

Henry took his first stroller rides through our neighborhood, and loved them.  He also loved (and continues to love) car rides.

Henry began lifting his head while on his belly and turning it from side to side.  He also began to follow us with his eyes as we moved across a room.

On July 26, Henry turned one month old!

August

On August 5, Henry gave me his first, honest-to-goodness, social smile.  I melted.  I still melt every time he smiles.

I turned the big 3-0 on August 8.  We did not do much to celebrate, given that Henry was 6 weeks old and we couldn't take him out to crowded areas yet, but we did go to dinner late in the evening when the crowds died down.

Henry went on his first long-distance trip, to New York to visit Mark's family.

On August 26, Henry turned two months old!!

September

Henry went on his second long-distance trip, to North Carolina to visit my family.  He also met Emily and Todd's baby girl, Harper, for the first time.

While in North Carolina, we took Henry to Wrightsville Beach!  It was a wonderful get-away.

Henry became more active, rolling over, playing with toys, and playing airplane with Daddy!

And, at the end of the month, we visited Michael and Laura and toured Fairmont State, and Henry turned three months old!

October

We began the month with a trip to a pumpkin farm so that Henry could choose our pumpkins and we could take photos of him in his adorable outfit!

On October 3, Mark and I celebrated our second anniversary with a wonderful dinner at Rasika.  My mom babysat Henry.

Henry worked on sitting up, rolling over and sitting in his activity chair.

Both Mark and I went back to work, after three months off!  Henry loves his nanny, and the transition was a smooth one.

Headed to work one morning.

At the end of the month, Henry turned 4 months old and then celebrated his first Halloween!  He dressed as a very scary lion.

November

In November, we celebrated my grandmother's 89th birthday and my uncle took some wonderful photos of Henry and me.

Henry enjoyed swinging in the big-boy swing at the park, taking baths, and playing with his daddy!

At the end of the month, Henry had his first (and so far, only, knock on wood) cold, we celebrated Thanksgiving with Mark's family, and Henry turned five months old!

December

At the beginning of the month, we took Henry to the park to swing!

One Friday night, we drove around looking at Christmas lights.  It was a wonderful, relaxing way to spend the evening.

Henry had a slew of holiday-related outfits, and I made sure he wore them all!

Henry had his first taste of solid foods: sweet potatoes!  He loved them and was more than ready to eat.  Since then, he's tried applesauce, avocado, squash, prunes, carrots, peas, peaches, bananas, Baby Mum-Mum crackers, and puffs (kind of like cheerios).  All  but the squash were a success!

Henry celebrated his first Chanukah and his first Christmas!  He was very spoiled with gifts.

And at the end of the month, Henry turned 6 months old!

Whew, what a year!  Can't wait to see what 2013 brings!
